AKCSE National Math & Science Competition 2023 Announcement

The Association of Korean-Canadian Scientists and Engineers (www.akcse.ca) is pleased to announce that the National Math & Science Competition (NMSC) 2023 will be held on April 29, 2023.  All students, parents, and guardians who are interested in the NMSC 2023 are invited to this event. The goal of the NMSC is to promote their interest in mathematics and careers in the fields of science and engineering.

캐나다 한인과학기술자 협회에서 2023년 4월 29일 학생들을 위한 National Math & Science Competition을 개최합니다. 본 행사의 목적은 학생들의 수학 학습에 대한 관심 증대 및 과학/공학 분야의 향후 진로 탐색에 있습니다. 학생, 학부모, 기타 보호자 분들의  많은 관심과 참여 부탁드립니다.

• Registration (등록 기간): April 3, 2023 – April 26, 2023

• Competition (행사일): Saturday, April 29, 2023

• Results Notification (결과 발표): by May 29, 2023

• Award Ceremony (수상자 행사): TBA

• Date (행사일): Saturday, April 29, 2023

• Time (행사 시간): 9:30 AM까지 입장완료 (9시부터 접수 시작, 시험시작 10시) 

  • 60 minutes for Grades 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8;

  • 90 minutes for Grades 9, 10, and 11

• All students must be checked in 30 minutes (by 9:30) before the competition. Calculators are NOT allowed. (시험 시간 30분 전 (9:30분까지) Check-in 필요. 계산기 사용 불가.)

• The exam problems will be based on the Canadian curriculum. Some sample problems will be available here. (시험 문제는 캐나다 학습과정에 기반함. 온라인으로 샘플 문제 제공)

• Awards: The result will be announced to the participating students by May 29, 2023. (입상자는 2023년 5월 29일 전에 발표 예정임)

  • National Winners: 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place (Per Grade)

  • Local Awards will be selected and announced by the local chapter.
